She was known as ''moses'' for her people because she gathered as many slaves as she could . Helped them escape to the the Underground Railroad, just as Moses did for his people. She risked being punished and possibly killed for her bravery and kind act. People were wanting Harriet's head on a platter because she gathered about three-hundred slaves. The slave owners wanted to capture her and probably kill her then. Instead, of keeping her around and do the same thing over again. Early, at an age Hariett was starting to recognize that she had the same right as any person. To have an education, slaves should be treated as people, and not properties. Thats what alarmed the slave owners. Because slaves were treated as inferior people. They didn't have the education. It was like they were blind and weaponless against a battle. They wanted to keep slaves to work for them and easily control them like puppets. Harriet believed in her people having the right for freedom. live their lives in the way they pleased and having right to education.
